Are you wondering what in the world a “Blog Hop” is??
Definition: “A blog hop is a list of blogs or specific posts related to a similar topic.”
Once a month, members of my Damask Divas team get together and host a “Blog Hop”…
It’s basically a virtual party that is centered around a specific theme…
You start at one blog and then “hop” to the next one, and so on…
Each blogger will show you a project that they have created using the theme of the month
and will then give you the link to “hop” to the next blog.
It’s a great way to see some amazing projects and there’s even a GIVEAWAY!!!

My middle daughter is way more creative than I am!
I like to have a “plan” to follow when I’m crafting whereas she just dives in!
She also loves to grab my camera and takes all kinds of cool photos…
This week she walked in my room when I was getting ready to make some cards
and said she wanted to help! Yahoo!!
So I set her to work designing the cards, picking out the paper & embellishments…
while I cut the paper into the right sizes…
I stamped the cute little critters (which I just got in my CTMH Consultant Kit!) onto white cardstock
and then she colored them in with my copic markers…
We then went through my 4″ x 6″ card stacks & paper scrap bins to find coordinating paper..
We added some ribbon from my ribbon stash…
And Voila!
Didn’t they turn out cute?
I’ll be sure to include my sweet girl on upcoming projects as her enthusiasm is definitely contagious!

A few years ago I started making recipe boxes to sell in my Etsy shop…
Then life got crazy & I had to give up my fun hobby for awhile.
But guess what??? THEY’RE BA-ACK!!
I re-covered an ugly Michael’s recipe box…
and transformed it into a thing of beauty!
I also created tabbed dividers & hand-stamped recipe cards…

I had so many plans last week…
That is, until the “Great Flu of 2013″ hit our family!
I did get some online shopping done from bed
and
Pinned a bunch of paper crafting projects to my Pinterest boards so it wasn’t a total loss!

you will know that I have had a small handmade shop at Etsy for a while now…

I’ve always enjoyed scrapbooking & creating journals, cards, albums
and all sorts of holiday items like my Snowman Soup or Reindeer Spares.
Recently, I was researching ideas on the internet to help streamline my
handmade biz with creative ideas, discounted pricing on materials & so on.
After much time & prayerful consideration, I have decided to join forces
with Close To My Heart and become a consultant/hobbyist!
From all the research I have done, this company seems to fit best
with what I am trying to accomplish.
The price to join is only $49 and I received $155 in product & materials!
My first goal is to make higher quality handmade products for my Etsy shop,
using scrapbooking & papercrafting supplies from Close to My Heart.
I’m also excited about all of the resources they will provide me with ~
lots of inspiration & creative ideas as well as a “team” of other consultants
who will share their creativity & encouragement!
I would also like to use my new Deb’s Heart and Home Designs blog
to share my artwork & tutorials as I create new handmade items…
